What one word does the government wave around more than any other… one that stirs up the ignorance of the people at large… one that gives me leverage in my belief that the government has ulterior motives for the USA and Iraq?

US Deaths in Iraq versus Vietnam

US Deaths in Iraq versus Vietnam

Patrick just linked me an interesting blog post comparing the US death rates in Iraq to those in Vietnam. For the amount of time we’ve been in Iraq, and the same amount of time from the start of the Vietnam war, there have been more US casualties in Iraq than in Vietnam. Of course, after that period is when things started ramping up and our death rates skyrocketed. If anything, I agree that this is a sign of concern. I hope that we can accomplish our goals before the death rates in Iraq go the way of Vietnam.

Keep in mind, I am only comparing death rates between Iraq and Vietnam. I’ll leave other comparisons for later if I feel them warranted.
